104 "Strongest Man" dies after hit by car
« on: January 12, 2010, 11:36:08 AM »
"NEW YORK - A famed strongman who once lifted 3,200 pounds at Coney Island during its heyday and was still bending quarters with his fingers at age 104 died Monday after he was hit by a minivan.

Joe Rollino was struck as he crossed a major street in Brooklyn, and suffered a broken pelvis, head trauma and broken ribs. He died a few hours later at an area hospital.

Police said the driver was going the speed limit and had not been drinking. No criminality is suspected, but the driver was issued a summons for a defective horn."

Right?? At his 104th birthday, he was still able to bend quarters with his fingers alone... and yet he apologized saying he used to be able to bend dimes!

A summons for a broken horn? Gah.

He would have been 105 in March.  105!!! And livin life, still boxing even.

105 in 2010..... Born in 1905, in 1932 he would have been 27...

OMG!  That guy was superman!

(Superman was created in 1932)
Better check the mini-van for kryptonite and the history of the driver.  He may be the offspring of a long lost nemesis.
