The article was short and seemed to be missing a conclusion to the situation, no?It seems to me that regardless of permit allowance, being in the presence of the President of the United States would supersede in rank. No one but the President's guards should be allowed to strap as far as I'm concerned. But alas, I am not in charge of such things.
yeah the article doesnt give a whole lot of real info, I was talking to a coworker about it today and he immediately jumped to the conclusion that I was disputing his, or anyones right to carry (where allowed) I wasnt disputing the guys right to carry, I was questioning his intelligence. Just because you can do something and be within the law, doesnt mean you SHOULD do something. I'm sure the guy is now screaming that his rights have been violated and they most likely have if he was detained or anything, but what would a reasonable person expect to happen when you go to a presidential meeting, strapped and carrying a sign that basically says "sometimes you gotta kill a mother fucker to defend your freedom"
The law is that a "sane" individual can carry... and therefor if his sanity is in question (i.e. carrying a gun at a function the president will be attending) then his right to carry is in question
